The journey seen as an excuse for a report of a research that records, elaborates and tells the transformations in action in some of the islands of the Cabo Verde arcipelago, focusing on the present days transformations without loosing sight of the past cultural heritage. Five essays about the present geophysical configuration and the role of Cape Verde, about urban planning themes, cultural heritage and historical building, of tourism as an input to urban/territoral transformations, that give back a cognitive and critic picture about the copeverdean reality; and finally some interviews, given by local actors about the requalification of the most recent settlements, completes the whole survey with the direct voice of the local actors.

Elio Trusiani, architect and Ph.D. in Town Planning, researcher at Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches and carries out researches both in town and landscape planning.
